Upon his return from World War II, Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Garnering the title of Rookie of the Year, he solidified his place as one of the eminent players in the annals of the team, which presently calls Los Angeles home.
During his 10-year MLB career, Jackie Robinson was a 6-Time All-Star from 1949 through 1954, won the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player Award in 1949, and was a World Series Champion in 1955. In 1997, MLB retired his uniform No. 42 across all major league teams.
